Hello I'm looking to make a small panel from pressure treated timber, would I be able to edge join standard pressure treated construction timber (4x2) and seal it with something so it's able to be left outside, what I'm looking to make is the worktop on the attached photo

Thanks Chris

Just brush on some preservative after you've done all your woodwork, but before gluing up. There are many of them. Avoid the "Cut End" types as they include a die.

Thanks, any recommendation on preservative? I take it the wood will have to have a low moisture content before the glue up

I'd leave it a few days between applying the preservative and gluing. The stuff is very volatile, so it vaporises, hence drying quickly.

I've got a tin of Ronseal Universal Wood Treatment in my shed. It's probably 20 years old as it goes an extremely long way, so I don't know if it is still available.

PU glue is a bit more forgiving of a little moisture than some others. I wouldn't pay for top notch preservative as you're paying for dry rot protection - which is irrelevant outdoors.
