Just purchased Joint Genie. Seems a good solid jig but the finish lets it down, to many sharp edges and corners. Can't wait to try it out.

+1. Mine was very well finished so no complaints whatsoever. It pays to mark the face side and edge of the timber so you set out consistently.

I saw this test http://dowelmax.com/jointstrength.html of the various strengths of dowel and mortice and tenon joints which convinced me to buy a jig although the Dowelmax was too expensive for me and I opted for the Joint Genie.
