I am looking at, among others, the Jet JWBS-14 bandsaw and wondered if any of you good people have any experiences, good or bad of it?

I am looking secondhand, so input from anyone with the older models would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Greg

Hi Greg
I've had one of these for about eight years, and it's had a lot of use in that time - mainly resawing. Copes with 200 mm oak, ash, wenge, etc., with no problem.
I've found it totally reliable, easy to set up and I certainly recommend it.

Mine's over 15 years old, and has been great. I have had to replace the bearings on the guides several times, probably from getting sawdust in them, as well as making some replacement throat plates. I leave it tensioned all the time (none of that detensioning nonsense) and have had no problems with the tires. (Mine is a 1 hp closed stand model, so that could differ from what you're looking at.)
