My much better half has suggest that I should just buy whatever Christmas present I want and she'll just wrap it up for me.

So I have a dilemma - what to get! (ok ok, it's a nice dilemma)

So I am keen on the following:

Festool TS55 track saw (i have an axminster TS200 table saw but struggle to use it in the space I have)
Festool 1400 router (I have a Triton TRA01 but I'd like to just leave that mounted in the table)
Triton Spindle sander (or other similar model) (I only have a belt and disc sander at the moment)
Triton Sharpening system (I have a cheap Clarke Wetstone sharpener) - although I see the Jet is on offer at Axminster today.

My thoughts are, I could get one of the Festool machines, or both of the Tritons or even one of the Tritons and a Triton Track saw.

I know I'm fortunate to have such an issue but I don't really know what to go for. I'm sure they would all get used.

My track saw is indispensable and extremely versatile, but I would seldom use the spindle sander. It largely depends on what you do. I wouldn't waste the opportunity of a nice present on a sharpening system.

I agree it does depend.

The truth is I do a bit of all sorts. I'm planning on making an outdoor table next, but I keep getting small projects that get in the way. I think I might get a track saw as I think that will get used quite a lot. I think she is quite keen on getting me something from Festool as she know how much I like my domino and rave about the accuracy of Festool kit. Maybe my daughter would appreciate a bobbin sander! lol

My Wife knows better than to offer that. She asked me what I wanted and I told her a Festool Domino DF700 I even went so far as to find the lowest price in the country for her, but she still didn't seem interested. Ah well, I can live in hope.

I bought mine this week , treated myself to a new Fein multimaster then while online registering the warranty I spotted an amazing deal on the Festool pdc 18v drill set, nearly half price in fact . So I got one of those too :)

I love my Fein Multimaster had it for about 15 years, I still use it even though the switch is 'always on'. I bought a Ryobi cordless one and whilst it is not bad, it is not as good as the 240V Fein.

I do like the fact that I can get consumables at a decent price now. When I first got my Fein you could only get Fein ones and they were like £15 a blade.

Ed I too have had the old Fein mm for a few years but just bought the new 350q. It's miles ahead of the old 250q you gotta try one out

I'm quite glad that Ed thinks the Ryobi cordless isn't bad as that's what I've got.

I've got quite a few Ryobi 18V One+ bits of kit, most bought from the UK but some of the items are available from the US only (so I bought them from ebay.com and had them shipped over). The only bits I have found not to be up to scratch so far are the Jigsaw and Stapler (these are both the older blue models so may have been upgraded or improved since).

The bits I am most impressed with are the P320 18g Brad Nailer, the Circular Saw (outstanding) and SDS Drill but many more are also very useful.

I have just received a Jobmax Nailer Head which fits the Ryobi Multitool body, I haven't used it in anger yet but it seems well made and works like it is supposed to. Link to auction: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ridgid-R82234 ... 51c7c0048b great price too!

My next One+ purchase is a P325 16g Finish Nailer (Just waiting for it to arrive).

If I could recommend one thing for the One+ system it would be a 4AH battery (circa £70 from Amazon), this seems to make all of the tools more powerful and of course last considerably longer.

I've got the original green jigsaw and that is the only thing I think is a bit week. There is a newer one out which is meant to be better.

I too bought some bits from the states. Felt a bit odd bringing an impact wrench and an angle grinder in my bag! The impact driver is stunning value for money. I've also got the 6 battery charging station which keeps the batteries conditioned. I don't have anything bigger than about 1.4ah batteries because they came with some of the tools. I am keen to get 2 x 4ah ones but waiting for my next trip to the US. I believe the AEG multitool heads fit the Ryobi as well. I don't have the right angle driver and that might appear in my collection at some point
