Having got the table saw running more like a new one, I decided I would like it looking more like a new one.

So last night at quitting time I soaked the cast iron top with WD40 and let it soak overnight.

Today after lunch I attacked, first with a razor blade scraper tool and then with steel wool. The results were underwhelming to say the least.

I then tried some 240 grade sandpaper, with limited success. I gradually worked my way down to 60 grit and then back up to 240.

Its not as good as I would have liked, but it's good enough to do. My arms won't take any more.

BTW, what should I use to wax it?
