Is that saw handle unfomfortable in your soft, white hands?

I am really posting this as a bit of a tip......

I have a lovely saw. It is a Pax and whilst it cuts superbly well and tracks dead true, the open handle was a little uncomfortable due to the rather sharpe edges.

So, I took the handle off and ran it against a 1/2" round-over bit on my router table, 10 minutes with 80 grit followed by 240 grit hand sanding and then two coats of Patina gives a lovely comfortable handle - unexpectedly and a nice by-product is that I think it looks better too

Nice one, Tony. I didn't realise the Pax handles were quite that square though!

Guess we shouldn't be scared of "personalising" our tools.
Music to Rob Lee's ears methinks...

Cheers, Alf

I am not surprised the originals were uncomfortable Tony, they look positively knife edged! Makes you wonder why they don't round them at the factory?

I would say either the draftsman was not a woodworker or the bean counters got involved in the production descission.
