I have the above phone and up until an hour ago I had sound on it, I don't have the click noises even though they are set to work, and I just tried utube to no avail.. For some reason when I turn the sound up it say speaker but in brackets it says headphones, I can't find a setting to turn off the headphones, anyone help please....

I had a speaker problem with my iPhone 5
Nothing out of the top speaker ( earphone) but getting sound out of the bottom 2.
Had to use speaker phone setting to listen to people.
It was still under warranty - tried a speaker replacement but in the end had to replace the phone.

Have you been using it much with headphones attached ? I Had a 3gs which I listened to audiobooks..... A lot. Eventually something broke inside and headphones was the only way it would work. I now keep it just as an iPod and use my 5s with a bluetooth headset.

not used a set of headphones at all, the funny thing is if someone rings i can hear it ringing but still no click noises or sound from utube..

Never had the problem myself, but a quick google suggests that it may be related to a thermocouple/heat sensor that kicks in when the phone's been used intensely for a while. Suggested fix is to cool it down to reset the sensor e.g. 20 seconds in the fridge / held in fromt of an air conditioner. Might be worth a try, in addition to the usual hard reset etc...

Hmmm. Don't have any of these problems with Sony Android phones

Been using Sony/Ericsson for ten year or more and not had a single failure of any kind yet

I agree with you...up to a point. My Galaxy Ace has the annoying habit of putting itself down to minimum brightness for no apparent reason. Depending then on the ambient light conditions, it can be a right PITA to reset.

Have to say that it quite useful having an alternative platform to the iPhone/iPod Touch (although I do have a couple of the latter for controlling SqueezePlay/Squeeze Server)/

My contract is up for renewal later this year....always fun to see what I can negotiate out of Orange :D

I ditched Orange last year in favour of O2. I'd been an Orange customer for 15 years. Towards the end I was barely getting a 3G signal anywhere. Since they merged with T-Mobile and then became EE, customer service has gone to ****. You can no longer contact them via e-mail or speak to someone ENGLISH on the phone.

Just as an update, I put the phone in the freezer for about a minute then did a factory reset and it works ok now...
