Does anyone have advice on how many coats of danish oil needed for oak ,its for an internal peice of furniture?

Between two and four, depending on how you want it to look and how much wear it will get. A table top would benefit from more coats than a bookshelf, for example.

Whatever you do, make sure that all of the solids are dissolved properly, by thorough shaking or stirring - if it's been in storage for a while you can sometimes get a very solid layer at the bottom of the tin.

For most furniture I'd be inclined to do the full four. And wax over the top.
