Hi,

am making some bathroom cabinets. They're quite simple, just ash carcase sections joined with sliding dovetail housings. Have a picture here if it helps:

I want to use inset frame and panel doors with those push to open style magnetic catches. I've never used these before and haven't sourced any yet but just wondered how the hinging should work. Normal butt hinges would not allow the 'push-in' action would they?

Any pointers would be gratefully recieved.

regards

Colin

You can usually get enough movement on an inset Blum hinge to work with the touch latches, the small mini Blums that fit a 26mm hole would be better than the full size ones on a small cabiner like yours, also allows for a bit of adjustment to the door.

The alternative is to use pivot hinges

You could use normal butt hinges if the hinge edge of the door was chamfered to 10-15 dgerees to allow the door to swing into the carcase.
