I am taking the opposite path. I have now had 3 induction hobs fail in 12 years. They are not cheap items and I want them to last longer than that. My next hob will be electric ceramic.

... We currently use a 2 ring portable induction as the fitted cooker is electric ceramic and I hate it with a passion. Will never go back to using anything else now.

Likewise - the one in our last house was electric ceramic (not chosen by us) and both of us vowed never to have another.

I have no plans to change my gas hob, but if I did, I need to check something that has arisen here;
We put all our pans through a dishwasher, because they are all stainless.
But what happens to MAGNETIC stainless pans when they are dishwashed? Do they go spotty all over?
