i have few incra bits- square, rules, mitre gauge and the quality is top notch. You will not be disappointed in that respect.

My question for this tool would be what you are planning on using it for? If it is a few box joints, or even quite a few I would make a jig. The big problem for me with box joints is that I don't like the look of them- the ultimate aim of any box joint jig is to get a finished joint that looks like it has been CNC cut, i.e. as good as an Ikea joint.

Decorative boxes cut with box joints always look a bit try hard and in your face- "LOOK AT THE JOINT ON THIS BOX"- I think that there are better joints for such things, where the joint is aesthetically forgotten. For shop use boxes, then great, but the shop built jig would cut those just as well.

I have not made one, but i believe that a shop made jig is pretty simple. This looks like it does the job, others available http://lumberjocks.com/projects/50745

each to their own i guess

I like the look of box joints
it is obvious they are machine cut..yes
I think machine cut dovetails look poor in the cheaper jig options
i don't have the hand skills for hand cut dovetails
i particularly like look of box joints in contrast wood
and from what i can google the incra does the job
it also seems possible to space them evenly that a cheapo dovetail jig wont do easily
to be honest it is just a new toy to play with, so i guess i maybe spend more than its worth in a commercial setup (just a hobby for me)
i also guess there is no real strength in intended pull direction compared to a dovetail
the original question was to see if worth going for a more advanced incra setup

i do appreciate input, so hope this comes across ok
