Hi , Does anyone have any info on an Inca p/t , as far as I can tel the blades are 262 x 20 x 3 m but they may have been ground to that size thru repeated sharpenings or they may be suplied that size,I can find 262x25 blades on the net,the blades have 2 elongated holes in which the head of 2 cap head screws engage to allow adjustment and i suspect ad an element of security to prevent the blades being thrown , the retaining bar is paralell and is retained with 6 clamp screws.
Has anyone any experience of replacing these blades with plain ones and relying on the clamps to retain them?
All help info and advice welcome, thanks in advance
Chris

The slots are for adjustment and make the job of blade setting much easier than with plain knives.
Roy Arrowsmith at Woodford Woodworking Machinery has a wide range of planer knives, he may be able to help you. 0161 4395683 or [email protected]

The planer on the old Lurem has plain knives; no experience (so far  ) of it thowing them, but they are a pain to adjust. Your other source of information would be Doug of Cutting Solutions who posts on here. Well worth asking him for advice.

Hi ,
Thanks for replies,I have happily got this sorted now,the adjuster screwscan be wound right down to allow a pair of plain [and cheap!!] blades to be sat on top ,the adjusters can still be turned from above, the only down side is that only upwards movement is via the screw, downwards will have to have a push with a bit od wood,Iwas a little concerned about the possibility of the blades being thrown but examination of the clamp plates show the screw pockets to be tapered thereby providing a wedge action.
Jimi I am in the Medway towns { Rainham} whereare you located?
Cheers
