Yesterday I bought some new tools from a few different companies. The service was so good and the products were delivered within 24 hours even though I only paid for standard delivery. The companies in question were Workshop Heaven and Thomas Flinn. Does anybody else have praise for fantastic service. I for one would like to hear about these businesses, I would like to help out these great companies in these difficult times.

I'll second the praise for Workshop Heaven. I've also found the service at @Wood Workers Workshop to be first class.

Probably not much use to people in the UK but I bought machinery from Holzprofi France recently and would highly recommend them. The pre and post sale support was brilliant and I've been very impressed with the quality of the machines (P/T, bandsaw, cyclonic extractor). Excellent value for money.

I'll give a shout out for Metal Fabrications Supplies / Derby Industrial Power Tools (in Derby ...).

There's a thread still running about my frustrations with FedEx a couple of months ago, but the supplier that I was buying from were MFS, and their customer service was both personal and exemplary. When even they couldn't straighten out FedEx, they dispatched a second shipment without hesitation.

MFS carry the top quality welding helmets from Swiss company Optrel and an extensive range of Metabo tools. Good service always pays because I ended up buying more of both brands products from them after having such a good response from their customer service manager.

While I'm no longer using much in terms of LN and LV tools, in favor generally of older and lighter tools, the service from both companies in the US is provided at a level that I couldn't imagine having to live up to - an ideal level for the buyer vs. a "we'll be nice to you only to the point that it maximizes our profit" level.

Most woodworking retailers here, even the small ones that specialize (like wellermart/shellac) etc, have really been super.

Abbey power, ffx and powertool mate are all quick posters. Ive used all 3 lots of times.

I ordered a nailer from Trade Counter Direct for a Christmas Present, the week before Christmas. The courier lost it. TCD made an exception to their normal investigation timescales and dispatched a replacement for next day delivery. Great service.

Axminster gave me a £40 gift card because they noticed a small scratch on a table saw before delivery. When it arrived, I couldn't even spot it...

I have also found Workshop Heaven to be excellent. Had an issue with the iron in a new plane plane iron that wouldn't hold an edge which they replaced without question on the back of a phone call. I also feel that Classic Hand Tools deserve a mention, always prompt dispatch and delivery.

I’ve used both Thomas Flinn and Workshop Heaven too and agree the service is great.
Positive experiences with Record Power, Axminster, Powertoolmate and Powertoolworld too.
I’ve had a few things from Classic Hand Tools and Wood Worker’s Workshop, directing my family to both for birthdays, etc and the experience is always good.
Repeat customers are obviously more difficult to keep so continued good luck to them all 👍.

Workshop heaven is one of the best traders I have ever interacted with. In my experience, Matthew puts customer service first and foremost, I would not hesitate to trade with WH, and recomendd it to others.

I like Yandles, I know not everyone does but I've always had great service, speedy deliveries and was given a very warm welcome when we visited during our holiday to Somerset over Xmas, even our dogs were well recieved, I will likely continue to use them as my main supplier for the foreseeable future

Contacted Axminster on Saturday (a couple of weeks back) regarding a problem with my 2+ year-old air filter - the remote was misbehaving - had a reply first thing Monday morning, saying that replacement parts had been dispatched. They arrived on Tuesday, I fitted them on Wednesday, problem solved.

No question or quibbles, just excellent customer service.

I’ve always had excellent service from Axminster both online and at my nearest branch at Warrington. They also seem to be well regarded in Axminster as a good employer and decent business.

I dont know if it is general among trading companies in UK or mainly small retailers, but I have always been satisfied with the level of service provided in the UK. That includes workshop heaven, classic hand tools, Axminster, FFX.
I contacted classic hand tools several times for advices before placing an order, and always got good advices (they even advised me once against buying a tool (proedge) to replace a tormek as it wouldnt really suit me).

In a slightly specialist area, I've had excellent support from Fronius UK this winter with one of their TIG welding sets. The technical support team at Milton Keynes helped me resolve a problem that I only encountered in sub zero temperatures more than a year after buying the machine. Quantifying that fault involved ice packs and a lot of faff, but it turns out that I wasn't the first to meet it and a firmware upgrade had been available for a year that fixed the problem :)
