Hi,

Can anyone identify this old table saw? It was in a very sorry state when I got it but here it is fully restored.

Please accept my apologies for most of the images being on their sides, they were all taken on an iPhone the same way but only one is the right way up (Go figure).

There are no manufacturer marks but the motor was refurbished back in 1998.

There is no angle adjustment for the blade but instead you can tilt the fence to whatever angle is required.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

iphones always cause problems with pics. Save them to a computer, rotate to the correct angle and save. then from the computer they will always be the right way up.

cant help with the saw.

Download Paint.net

Free and works well for basic image doctoring.

Can't help with the saw I'm afraid, but it would do me!

That does look like an old Startrite saw that has been heavily modified. That fence looks new, the mechanism looks original or maybe copied from the original. The sheet metal sides look new, they are too clean to be original. I think you might have a refurbished saw, if you can get photos of the inside that would clear things up.

I don't think any of it has been modified, I had said that I had refurbished it as it was in a bit of a state when I got it.

I will try to find time to get internal pictures today.

Here are a few pictures, please excuse the state of the saw but it has had a lot of use since I first posted.

It is a Startrite saw! I found the plate that I had removed prior to prepping for painting. Unfortunately it only gives a serial number, no model or anything like that, just where it was made.

What size blade does it take? It looks too small to be a 175 or 275. I'm guessing that it might be a TA125 (8in, 3/4HP) or TA145 (9in, 1 HP). It could be a very early model, hence the rip fence being so very different to later Startrites.

I have looked at hundreds of images of old Startrite table saws and all have a tilting arbor, mine does not but thanks for the suggestions.
