I use a powerful magnet behind my sorby and It's pared with a diy shopvac fitting for the real fine metal dust. The magnets go at the back mind in plastic bags.
When I want to clear the shi*e out, I remove the magnets in the bags and empty above a bin. That way all the metal dust doesn't stick to the magnets.

Small hss bit followed by a step drill bit would be the best and only way to get a perfectly round hole.
