I was given an old chisel recently from the Site Agent at work, which as the topic describes, needs a new wooden handle. Went to my not-so-local tool supplier thinking I would get one no bother - wrong. The tools way too good to throw away, quite unusual aswell - very slim bevelled edge inch&half, anyone know where I can buy a wooden handle with a brass reinforcing ring ? thanks in advance.

Well you could make one... Who says they have to be round? One of the most comfortable handles I've tried was a sort of flattened octagon shape, with no ferrule at all. If it's a slim chisel chances are you don't want to be striking it with a mallet anyway. However, if you still want to buy, try Ray Iles (click on the catalogue link and scroll down to Replacement Handles). They'll probably look something like this - but about half the price... :-s

Cheers, Alf
