I could have found a SAW DOCTOR!!!!

Dear All,

having called Axminster Technical as a wild stab in the dark, and asked if they knew of a saw doctor, the chap on the end of the blower suggested
DAVENPORT SAWS.

Scarcely controlling my glee, I rang said company.

And yes, they do sharpen traditional saws, and..wait for it... steady..BY HAND, because machines "often aren't reliable". :lol: :lol:

The price: £3.90 +vat for a sharpen, another £1 for a shampoo and set.


Well, now, how about that? Of course, now I just have to summon the courage to test them out on the Disston.

This calls for a cigar...

Davenport Saws, Screwfix headquaters and shop, and just down the road Yandles and Axminster. And of course the famous Yeovil Town FC !

On the subject of Saw Doctors does anybody know of any in the midlands and or leicester area, cos I seem to be living in a desert..... wood wise

Its just that I have a couple of old saw that are in need of tlc
