Ok, so I got home yesterday to be informed I was off to Tuscany in July. Now while I'm all for art, I do have to admit my definition is a bit different to that of the missus. While she wants to see statues of naked mean with no arms, and renassiance paintings and the like, it don't really float my boat as I'm more interested in how the boat was made. So my question gents is this - what is there to go and see and occupy a wood nut like me in Tuscany, be that furniture, architechture, marquetry, tool making etc?

I forget which city it was in, but I've been to Florence and Venice more than any others, so I could well have been one of those. There is a museum of Petra Dura, stone marquetry, which is surprisingly interesting. I wasn't expecting to be impressed, but I was.

And as for architecture, just look up! It's everywhere!

Cheers Steve will look him up a biit before going. Lapidary inlay and marquetry is somethiing I'm about to experiment with for a product that I'm looking to launch this year.

@phil.p unfortunately only limited supping will occur as I was informed the hotel was in the middle of nowhere and she had hired a little run about :/

Most sight seeing spots, be it Palaces, Churches whatever are generally full of interesting wooden features - fancy doors, staircases, room beams etc etc. Lots of carved wood and lots of furniture.
You won't be bored!
