Hi All
I have an Axminster planer which I'm trying to set up so the tables are parallel.

The outfeed table is adjusted using like this...

The locking allen nut is loosened on the left, then the table is adjusted using the nut on the right, which is on an eccentric cam. All well and good. I use a straight edge and everything is parallel. However, the act of tightening the bolts again slightly moves the outfield table, meaning the two tables are no longer parallel. Any one know of a technique to stop this happening?

Similarly, the fence is easy to set to 90 degrees, but keeping it there as you tighten the locking handles is next to impossible.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Tighten it up a bit until it begins moving, tap it back down with a soft hammer/hammer on a piece of wood and tighten up.

...wait till you see how much the thicknesser table moves!

(Or maybe it's just mine... But I doubt it)
