My nephew is collecting a second hand Hegner scroll saw for me.
What is the best way to lift it ie where do your place your hands - I don't want him damaging it

As Martin has said, never ever lift it by the top arm, which is the obvious place to lift it. You can put your right hand under the main frame where it meats the base and with the left hand life from under the base at the front being careful not to come into contact with the variable speed control or you could damage that as well. It would also be a good idea to apply the tension to the blade while in transit. This is what Hegner advise.
