Not so crazy if you're used to it... The hospital I used to work at had one of the few Paternoster lifts still in operation. I used to love it!!sunnybob":27cu33rs said:Have you tried the water taxis in bangkok? They dont even tie up, just lift the prop out the water. people jump off and people jump on and the prop goes back in the water and the boat never stops moving. Crazy world.
Yes, as seen in the video... :wink:AES":1ijv8gfx said:Is Paternoster one of those open, continuous belt lift thingies?
Last I saw, the one at NPH was still in service. They've put those cubicles up around it now, but it's still used by staff.AES":1ijv8gfx said:I presume H&S banned them LONG ago?
These are mostly floor sweepers or doctors and nurses. They have trouble finding the ON button for their computers... which, coincidentally, is one of the things I was employed to help them achieve.... I therefore assert that the heftily locked machine room is quite safe!AES":1i9k45sn said:Apart from H&S I guess the real problem with these must be if some disgruntled employee with the hump gets into the machine room on his last day at work and twists the speed knob to full - just to get his own back.
It suggests that you're either exceptionally well-versed in the impacts of Tumour-Necrosis-Factor Alpha on Ankylosing Spondylitis, or that you should stop chinwagging and get back to emptying the bins, before going and scrubbing the toilets...!!AES":1vqkrl3y said:Mind you I also have trouble finding the ON button on my PC too - don't know what tells you about me - or perhaps I do)
