So true

Ah, brilliant. And one that obviously strikes a chord with mods in particular! 'Course you missed out the two members who then point out that it's all the government's fault that light bulbs have to be changed at all, and it's all because of Part P...

Cheers, Alf

Gill! The use of your bunker, if you'd be so kind.

Hi Alf

The bunker's free right now. Bring your own light bulb... :) .

You have definitely been analyzing this too much! (spot on though  )
Nice one, Philly :D

Nah, I hooked this off another forum - but it rings true in here as well!

The lightbulb is obviously the thing you put into the lamp to gain light. Whereas light bulbs are the small ones (e.g. crocus) you plant in the garden, as opposed to the big, heavy ones (e.g. daffodil).

Cheers,

Trev. (thinking he really must get out more).

i dont want to start any trouble  but adam did not specify what size lightbulb---light bulb that was changed, is there not any notes in part p to clarify this :? i dont have this problem as i let the wife change any bulbs ,well she is certified

<rant on> Talking about light bulbs, did you know that the health and safety people have stopped schools having lights fitted onto machinary such as lathes and grindstones? The reason - students could remove the light bulb, stick their fingers in the socket, and get an electric shock!

I don't suppose it matters to H&S that to see clearly whats happening at the working face you need to have a torch handy now </rant off>

This would be the same health and safety people that came out with the regulation that you cannot climb a ladder unless it is tied off at the top, completely ignoring the fact that you have to climb the ladder in order to tie it to a safety point.
