im looking for a hinge suitable for a 22mm mdf door thats fixing to a 18mm mdf face frame (inset). instead of the door being hinged to a carcase 90 degrees to the door its going straight into the face frame. so the plan view would be like a straight horizontal line rather than an L shape. id rather the hinger has concealed but im not too bothered. obviously normally id use a butt hinge but mdf and butts dont go. i hope my explanation is o.k and thanks in advance.

I just did a cabinet in 18mm mrmdf with butt hinges. The doors were lipped with PSE redwood and the inset face frame made from the same. Routed out the hinge mortises with a little palm router.
Very sturdy it ended up, I tell thee.

I think Blum do a hinge on a riser block for face frames. The block and hinge are connected to the cabinet, so I guess the riser block is specific to the width of your stile.
