It's barbecue time! That time of year when you realise you forgot to clean the barbecue from last September.

So I had to dismantle some grills that were secured with thumb bolts. A close call with judicious use of WD40 Release Penetrant. Phew, it was a close call!

Anyway, before I re-assemble, is there a high temperature grease that I can use on the threads that will make them a bit easier to release next year? Would graphite do it?

Cheers

Copper grease. I use it on the woodburner as well. The grease disappears but the copper remains to help lubricate.

Graphite also good.

+1 for either copper or graphite grease. IF you can "find" some, colloidal graphite is very good for this but unless you have a source it's VERY expensive.
