Hello all

Looking to get a bandsaw fairly soon, I was thinking of spending about £6-700, maybe up to a grand at a push.
Is it possible to get one in this price range (or cheaper) with a depth of cut of 12" or more?
Looking to mill up some green logs etc.

Thanks

You should be able to. http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-tr ... 0b-bandsaw is just over budget- I only did a quick search. Charnwood and fox may do one a bit cheaper.

I have a version of this axminster one I think. They have changed them around a bit and I am not sure if if is this one or the industrial one.
That's the one i want to get :)

Pretty sure SIP make a similar one. Also looks like the prices have gone up, i'm sure that charnwood was under 1k last week.

I was going to seriously look at the hammer and the startrite 352 but certainly at that time, the hammers were scare secondhand. I got the axi used at a good price and can't see myself wanting or needing to upgrade. The startrites were fetching a lot of money secondhand, but again with those and the hammers, nobody seems to want to upgrade for anything else. If I was to buy again, any of those 3 would leave me happy.
