This is probably a really stupid question!

Is there a definitive list of hex bits that are available?

Just been having a sort out and I've hex bits from broken screwdrivers, hex bits with multi tools. A lot of the same ones keep appearing again and again.

I would like to make one set and a box of spares (drenched in WD40 of course). Just wondering if there is a list somewhere and I can just print it off. Sit in front of the telly and sort through the bots one evening (exciting life I know)

OR

Has anyone bought a massive set of hex bits from a supplier? Please tell me where and I can go to the site and print the contents list off and use that!

Thanks

Martin

surely there is just metric and imperial? although I'm possible missing the point.
oh and security which are metric or imperial with a hole in the middle. :)

There seem to be so many in some of the sets. Like pozi drive but with three slots in stead of four, square ones, double prong ones - some asterisk shaped ones too (are these spline / torx??)

I've got the hole in the middle ones too. Like allen keys with the centre drilled out. They have just accumulated from other places!! I have a horrible feeling that one day - one of them will be absolutely vital to fix something. I just want to oragnise them so I stand some chance of finding that medium sized, three pronged little bu@@~er when that happens!

ah I see, why you say hex bit you mean hex shank bit. I thought you meant Hex bit which is the real name of allens.
there isn't a definitive list I'm afraid, as they are made for every screw type under the sun and a few that don't exist but the makers think they do. :)

this set from toolstation is pretty extensive and should give a list to start with.

I'm in a similar boat, I organised all mine in to what I know I use know and tipped the rest in to a box for future "wonder if I've got" moments.
