Anyone here work with LED lights (on component level)?
I need to find out if my idea is possible.
I need to figure out if there exists rgb led package that i could press into a piece of acrylic to edgelight individual letters in a sign. For idea to work led package needs to be with omnidirectional light spread, 4pin(non-addressable), 12v(think cars), 3-4mm thick, flat top, round or square and through-hole sort of deal where i can solder wires to (so no SMD) to connect to off the shelf controller.
These parameters are called for as the sign itself has to be very slim (8mm tops, 2x 4mm acrylic layers), so cant use traditional box lighting or led strips. Trying to develop very slim signs and need to figure out if my approach is wrong and i need to change my line of thinking. As i only worked with led strips before this i'm at a loss...
Help ?
