Hi
Here goes for my first post! Have floated in the shadows for a while.

I have been just been given a Elektra Beckum BAS 315 bandsaw which wouldn't start without a flick to one of the wheels (blade removed) and then wold run slowly. So replace the capacitor and now the motor is flying only in the wrong direction!!

What have I done wrong? Can I change the wires to one of the windings and if so which ones?

Does anyone have this model of bandsaw that runs the right way and wouldn't mind sending a picture of the wiring connections on the top of the motor as I'm not sure if this has been fiddled with before my ownership?

Many thanks

Just to update. Sorted it! Reversed the leads to the motor windings that were connected to the capacitor and now the motor spins in the right direction.

Glad you're sorted, thought the solution was something like that, but not certain enough to suggest it to you !

Welcome to the forum :)

Cheers, Paul
