Hi soringet

Welcome to the forum

I am not sure what material is used from this photogrpah but suspect it is laminated from thin sheets of ply in some kind of press or jig until the glue between the laminates dries.

I think I saw someting similar in Fine WoodWroking magazine a few months ago

Hi Soringet

My guess would be 3mm ply. glued and screwed onto the curved top and bottom shelf, fill the screw holes and paint.

Hope this is useful

All the best
Neil

I did something similar with ply that had been scored with a regular saw blade every 2" on the back - laborious! Made the ply extremely flexible, but lost some strength of course.

I imagine that while you could make it with ply as the others above have said, the actual desk material is probably a pressed alloy which is powdercoated.

If its going to be painted you could use that flexy MDF and the add a solid wood edge.....
