Help- need a tenon cutter for making rustic furniture.

Hi everyone, I am going to try my hand at making some rustic furniture and am looking to buy a tenon cutter, my question is what size should I be using to make the tenons on average size chairs, coffee tables, benches ect, any help would be much appreciated, regards Matt
