Hello!
I've just registered and thought I would say hello! (I didn't spot an introductions board, apologies if thee is one that I have missed!)
I have just recently developed an interest in woodworking after building a couple of pieces of rudimentary cat furniture for our spoiled moggies. I am wanting to step up from butt-joints and an over-reliance on screws & wood glue and start using proper joints and putting the emphasis on finesse, rather than speed.
My latest project is a bit silly, but it's fun and I am enjoying it. I am building a racing cockpit for my gaming console. It's early days so far, but I am already getting the hang of halving joints for the framework. Unfortunately as I am on a strict budget, the quality & consistency of the timber I am using is far from ideal - reclaimed pallets - But I figure it's good enough for a 'starter project'.
I am writing a blog of the build if anybody would be interested in having a look, but I assure you that spamming links to my blog is not why I registered here!! I am looking forward to learning some good info from you guys and hopefully contributing at some point too.
