New member from Sevenoaks in Kent. Woodworking for around 8 years, still don’t have a clue what I’m doing. Love making bits and pieces for the house but running out of space 😁. big fan of older, properly built tools! Making a headboard from my offcuts and just bought an old dewalt dw1150, wife says most expensive headboard she’s seen! Heres something i made a few months back.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a great fan of old cast iron tools and have a few. The one I cannot find is a thicknesser

I will post a few pics of the thicknesser / planer I bought about 5 years ago.
Its the one I have had a few electrical problems with.
Its a SICMA DMT 400( Italian ) a 16 i6 inch job about 40 years old and built like a "brick sh.t house"
Aussie hardwoods can be really tough, but this thing just eats it !
It's not a complete re-build , just a few electrics and some "cosmetics"
I have to do a job using Japanese cedar, so will have to fit some nice new sharp cutters
