The 403 has now appeared on the Record Power website and the guy who does their videos and demos has spoken to me about the machine. Should be available from about 17 November. Spec seems good and it needs a 16 amp supply with C Type breaker to start, then runs at about 9amps apparently. price is £1,400 but I am not sure if this includes VAT. I think it does. We had a further discussion about the 400E too and this is stated as pitched at upper end hobby and some trade (not continuous) use. I will wait and see until I have had a chance to examine both before making a decision on one of the Record brands or someone else.
I have ruled out second hand purely for practical reasons. Aside from the warranty risk, I have to hire a van to collect one and this adds £200 to the price plus my time. And we still have to lug a 140kg machine around.
