Hi new to the forum and would like some advice on my saw on the tension lever there are two red rollers and the left side seems to be wearing faster than the other one is there some kind of adjustment for this thanks

I take it you bought the saw second hand and this being the case you would not know how the previous owner used it, he may have been a bit heavy handed. it is unusual for one of the rollers to wear more than the other. My advice would be to get in touch with Hegner and replace both of them with new ones, peace of mind then. As far as I am aware there is no adjustment on these.

Sounds like the last owner was both right handed and heavy handed. The rollers on mine are white and replacement rollers are the same colour, so I wonder if the originals have been replaced with something else at some point in the saw's history. I wouldn't worry too much, though I'd replace them just so it looked right. :) New ones from Hegner are 1.44 each, and at that price for a little piece of plastic, or whatever it is made from, I'd make my own, too. I know, 3 quid isn't much, but it's the principle.

Hi Rob, welcome.

As Martin said the Hegner rollers are white. (Maybe white nylon ?)

My Hegner has had many years of heavy use (many hundred) blade changes in that time. I purchased the saw new and it came with a spare set of rollers, so was expecting these to be consumable parts, but I am still on the original set, which are showing little signs of wear.
I would get a replacement set from Hegner, its one of the few spares from Hegner, which are inexpensive.

Take care.
