I have decided to buy the Haydock Kit for my Record No 3 lathe but cant decide whether I want the digital readout or remote control module (I cant afford to go for both). Im thinking that while the digital readout is a nice touch, I will likely get used to what speeds I am running at over time and so perhaps the remote control module may be of more practical benefit? Anyone care to give me their thoughts?

Remote control is the most beneficial.

You will soon get used to the speed adjustment and get fed up of trying to get a 'selected ' speed to settle exactly what you intended, best to get used to judging the speed by visual use.

Absolutely agree with Chas.

I have had one of their converters for an old blue Coronet for some time, pre digital readout. It came with a list of speeds which I put somewhere but never refer to it. You get to know what speed is best (sometimes because the whole thing shakes so much).
