Their own bowl reversing jaws for the sorby patriot chuck?? I have happened upon a piece of 10mm aluminium plate 12" square and was wondering if anyone has made, or got, the bowl reversing jaws for said chuck......just wondering what size holes are needed for A. The screws that attatch to the chuck and B. the feet holes

Cheers for your help.

Hi

I have a set of Teknatool cole jaws and the buttons are secured with M6 allen screws, (I think this is common with other manufactures). As far as securing the adaptor plates to the jaws you will need to source set screws of identical thread form and longer by 10mm minus the thickness of the securing flange of the Patriot adaptors.

10mm aluminium may be a little 'overkill' but will certainly produce a good set of jaw adaptors. I suggest you do all of your marking out before you cut it into quarters. It may also be an idea to find someone with a metal lathe that can cope with this size work if you don't have one yourself - machining a 12" disc in 10mm plate with hand tools will take some effort, (another avenue would be to get it cut by water jet). You will also have to machine the register on the back of the adaptors to match that of the chuck jaws.

Regards Mick

ah shoot....i never thought about the register on the back!!! Or the longer screws!! darnit it'd be easier just to buy the correct chuck adaptor!!
