The biggest tool in the box
This is where I ended up Monday evening after fitting the shelf unit to the wall. I cut the removable shelves to size this morning and have a coat of polyx oil drying on one side now. Once the shelves are in and Lizzie can use it as a bookcase I shall attack the frieze around the top with the "secret" compartment and carving etc.
You can see how uneven the ceiling is, the backboard is touching the ceiling on the left and there's about 20mm gap on the right. I was thinking of using a frieze or whatever you call it that slopes up to the centre point so not showing the difference in ceiling height quite so obviously. I'm still pondering......
