Does anyone know of a good Hardwood supplier in North West UK?

I'm in Merseyside, but Manchester or anywhere in NW would be fine.

I'll second Ambrose McGrath. The boss is ex-International Timber in Manchester and knows his stuff. Another possible is Houghton Timber (tel: 01772 323566) up near Preston and if you don't mind going further afield there is British Hardwoods in the Bradford area at Bingley http://www.britishhardwoods.co.uk/ - they deliver all over.

Thanks both. I have actually been to Ambrose McGrath. the owner is a really nice guy. Very pleasant & enthusiasitic. I will certainly be going back when I'm ready to order my timber. Unfortunately, my day job is getting in the way & putting back my projects. They will be done though, eventually.
