Finally got round to using one of Aldi's USB Microscopes and had a look at an odd sort of safety knife with some sort of German insignia on one of the rivets for the handle scales......
The knife is a very flat "s" shape, 11" long and the stamp is about 1/8" wide, one cutting edge and last 3/4"is left blunt.

I think that Lenpam is on the right track..but mayhaps pre WW2 Nazi flight training symbol?..A little crude for later work

Had a look around for the insignia identification but never quite found the same one :?
The more I look at it I think that it has been double struck :?:
