Hand built woodworking machines

Has anyone seen the latest article in the British Woodworking magazine about the guy who hand builds machines out of wood.
He has built himself a running wooden bandsaw and portable bandmill and a panto-routeri am most impresses with the bandsaw and bandmill.
I would love to be good enough to build my own machines.

Making and Modifying Machines (Fine Woodworking On) has several projects by authors who have done that.

No doubt the guy in question is Matthias Wandel from Canada as mentioned at woodgears. I have bought a number of his plans which are extremely comprehensive and give full details on sizes and construction, so I don't think you should be shy of having a bash.
