You are likely to get a better finish and straighter cut with the angle grinder, let likely to distort it as well since it's quite thin walled.

If you put the tube in a water bath you should be able to avoid discolouring it, the thin slitting blades don't impart a lot of heat in the first place.
 
I doubt it will get hot enough with the grinder to cause any discoloration, especially if you use a thin disc specifically for stainless. I use these for most things as they last a lot better than the ordinary ones for cutting mild as well.
