Hello, everybody. You may have noticed today that some of the site pages may have been de-faced, with a cow image.

This was due to the fact that hackers sadly forced entry onto our servers mainframe - they managed to deface many of the websites on the server, and also corrupt our control panel system.

This affected UKWorkshop.co.uk and Sawdustalley.co.uk - The system admins are currently working to backup any files corrupted, and everything should be back to normal within a day or two.

If you missed the defacement, there is an example here:
http://www.sawdustalley.co.uk/hack/

Charley and myself have both recieved many emails showing support, and pointing the problem out - thankyou to thoose of you who showed your concern.

Hands up all who'd like to see a special corner of hell reserved for hackers?

Carried unanimously, I'm betting.

Hope it didn't give you and Charley too much hassle to rectify, James. Well done for getting some most of it sorted so quickly. 8) Like your snowy banner btw. Very seasonal. :D

Cheers, Alf

CYC,

hahahahahhahaha, it's open to the imagination.

I see it as myself carrying a nice beam of Oak.
It may never be true if the new desease gets out of control

Funny, 'cos I did see it as a log but now I'm definitely thinking bazooka. No matter what he's carrying, it still makes me think of The Saint. :D

Hi Charley/James

Just to say well done for getting the site back up and running, hopefully without too much pain.

Thanks for all of the good work.

sadly hackers are a fact of life! good job getting the site back up though!

its well worth remembering that no matter what security features you install there will ALWAYS be somebody somewhere able to get round them!

i know hackers are a pain in the buttocks but i have heard some people argue that they have a valid place in IT development!

interesting, and I can see their point, but I don`t share that opinion!
