Ok, see my other post for the Stanley.
However, as much as i would like to get Lie Nielson or Clifton, i have 2 planes that, other than 5 minutes or less flattening the sole and a quick sharpen on my Tormek, ive done nothing else to them.
They are both of the same make...................... They both take great shavings, coarse or fine, feel pretty good in the hand, and hold their edge for longer than i would expect

Guesses?

Well, only 1 guess, so....... Silverline!
I wouldn't recommend 99% of their power tools and even their hand tools can be pretty bad, but these 2 planes have proven to be a great buy.
Got them through work for less than double figures, new!

I have seen and used some faithful planes (my lad has one in his bench with a Quangsheng blade in it) which are absolutely fantastic for the price paid for them,

But

I have also seen and used some Faithful planes that are absolute dung!
