£30?! They're having a larf. If the block plane is anything to go by you'd be better off with an old Record or Stanley, unless there's a pressing need to have a brand new plane.

I have a few Groz engineering/metalwork things (squares mainly) that are really quite good. If the planes are made to the same standard, I would say that $35-45 is a very good price and that even £30 may not be bad.

Experience suggests they're not. But I agree, their engineering stuff is pretty good.
