I have zero experience of working in teak apart from knowing its usually brown in colour!

Have cut some teak up and its green in the middle. This I assume will revert to brown as its exposed to light?

sorry I feel this is such a numpty question

Yes it will go brown over time, left out in the elements it will all go gray any way.Later on scraped up or sanded it reverts to its original colour only of a deeper hue.

If you leave it in direct sunlight it will turn brown within a few days - that's what conservatories are for.
