I am planning to construct some garden furniture using green oak and will need to join some boards to get the width I need.
What adhesive would be suitable? It will need to withstand the effects of weather and movement of the green oak. I was thinking of polyurethane - would this be OK or is the idea of joining green oak boards a nonsense?

Thanks, John

I would rather not join green oak by gluing, but suppose PU would be the best bet if you have towith plenty of biscuits or splines.

I wouldn't join green oak into wider boards if I could avoid it. If I had to, I would use PU glue plus some form of semi or fully mechanical linkage - dowels, biscuits, dovetail butterflies etc.
