Hmmmm! I can't really Sam. That's about the extent of my Latin. Ex Libris, if you catch my drift.

Never mind Sam. The skin heals and the nails grow again. You'll be playing guitar once more in no time.

Its a shame you did not know you would need some ATF when you visited I have 10 ltrs of the stuff ready to service my landy. It uses it in the manual gearbox

Yup, sure have, Thanks Jack. I'm seeing my Multipla in for its service on Tuesday, I'll ask nicely if my man has a wee bit to spare and try the brew. Acetone - or Propanone, to give it the S.I. name - is easier to come by.

Right. I DID get the nut off, using a method explained to me by my next-door-neighbour, a former garage mechanic. Do this: place one face of offending nut on an anvil, taking care to support rest of structure it's attached to. Place cold chisel in centre of face, hit with Forkin Big Hammer. Rotate nut 180 degrees, re-employ cold chisel and epithetical device. Bingo! Rust hold broken. Nut off. Now, the mis-begotten bl~~dy pulley is stuck fast. Sheesh.

Here are some photos to let you see how I'm doing so far. Nothing like as good as Mark, but I'm learning.......

The last three photos - sorry for shaky hands - show a before and after of the rise and fall gearing and the method of cleaning: 'para cord' and Jimi's questionable metal polish (pink and smells girly).

There is more to come. My family have again derailed progress, but I'll try to post some more photos tomorrow evening, then we're off to OPJ and Adidat country for two weeks....wellies are packed.
