Sad though this is, to one who has a keen interest in all things flying, it does seem a little bizarre. No doubt the events will come to light as the enquiry progresses.
Mind you, does raise an interesting question namely that BA now fly with the cockpit door shut tight ( protection against potential terrorists).
So if there is an incident on the flight deck that disables the flight crew then the passengers are well and truly stuffed. I think I would prefer to take my chances with a terrorist on the plane if it meant that the cockpit was accessible.
