New and improved i think. I noticed it a few days ago on my phone using a full browser not the mobile site. However i think on my pc at home its still the old look.

A much better simple fix - use https://duckduckgo.com/

You will like the promise not to track / use / re-sell your searches and the absence of 'sponsored results' (ads) at the top of the list.

Excellent tip, thanks, Andy.

Do you know if there is anyway it can replace the dedicated Google search bar that is alongside the address bar? ...so you don't have to click the Duck icon first to invoke its toolbar thus eliminating the extra click?

Yes it can. On the DDG homepage, bottom right hand corner, is "add to browser" - click there and get instructions in detail for your browser of choice.

Mmmm...can't see it...maybe I am not on the homepage....do you have a URL please ?

Thanks, Nev.

One wee problem. Is there anyway I can tell duckduck to ignore 192.168.0.1 as a search request! It's blocking me getting to my router!

Hi Roger

Maybe if you prefix the address with http:// it will treat it as a url not a search term? (I never did like the merging of an address box with a search box.)

And sorry I missed your earlier request for deeper urls - this is the help page for Firefox

https://duck.co/help/desktop/firefox

and this is for Safari

https://duck.co/help/desktop/safari

Other browsers are also supported including those for Linux.

And if you want Google or Bing search results, click on the down arrow to the right of the search box to see what they call "!bangs!" which let you do loads of other clever searches, including using the big ones without being tracked.
