Gold paint finish over shellac / tru oil

Can anyone recommend a gold paint suitable for using over shellac or tru oil if anyone is familiar with it.

It is just to add some small detail decoration, not cover the whole thing.


I've found quite a lot of different brands but not really sure what to go with. I'd like to try out both gloss and matt.

So far i've found about 6 different possible products, but I don't really have the knowledge to know which is best.

I think I might just have to try a few different ones. I think oil based enamel might be best as I imagine oil based will self level better and various sources suggest enamel tends to bond better, is tougher and gives better gloss results.

It is an acrylic enamel to make things even more confusing.
